Co-organized by BKJ (the German Federation for Cultural Education for Children and Young People) and La Ligue de l’enseignement, this

meeting was aimed at German community stakeholders as well as organizations affiliated with La Ligue de l’enseignement wishing to set up cultural and artistic youth exchanges between the two countries.
The meeting took place in Aachen, the former capital of Charlemagne, where the new Franco-German Treaty of Cooperation was signed in 2019, 56 years after the Élysée Treaty.
No knowledge of the partner’s language was required to take part in the meeting, as all presentations were translated live.
This event was made possible thanks to the support of the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO / OFAJ).
Programme Highlights :
- Language facilitation activities and ice‑breaking sessions;
- An online meeting with the Franco-German Youth Office (FGYO);
- Workshops to gain a better understanding of FGYO funding criteria;
- A presentation of educational resources developed by the FGYO, BKJ and La Ligue de l’enseignement;
- Working sessions in Franco-German “tandems”, supported by the project officers present, aimed at developing future projects. Each tandem consisted of one German organization and one French organization, either already acquainted or meeting for the first time in Aachen;
- An evaluation session and presentation of future perspectives for each tandem.
The meeting largely achieved its initial objectives by giving French and German partners the opportunity to reconnect and/or meet new organizations, develop future youth exchanges and gain awareness of the educational resources and eligibility criteria of the Franco-German Youth Office.
