The European Commission launched a public consultation as part of the preparatory process leading to the release of the next edition of the EU Citizenship Report due to be published in the coming months.
The European House responded to the invitation and prepared a position paper which covers the main areas raised by the Commission such as the right to move and reside freely within the EU, the right to stand and vote as a candidate, the right to consular protection, simplifying mobility and life in Europe, exercising EU citizenship right and Covid.
Questions related to European citizenship are vital to make the Conference on the future of Europe a citizens-centered exercise and we hope that civil society will have a chair at the table. We are looking forward to seeing it happen!
The position paper is available here.
