On 11-13 May, ECF members gathered in Brussels for our Annual General Assembly.

Members of the European Civic Forum participate in a workshop on values at the 2026 general assembly
At the general assembly, members discussed the activities of the previous year, a year of significant change for ECF, with the departure of long-time secretary general Alexandrina Najmowicz, but also one in which we made significant advances in our work. You can read more in the annual activity report! The general assembly then discussed plans for the year to come.
This year, ten organisations were unanimously welcomed into the network! Congratulations to AKTO, the Bulgarian Fund for Women, CCIE, Civil Society Alliance Greece, Civil Society Forum, EUCRTA, Globalt Fokus, Iguality, LDCN, and Open Society Institute Sofia.

Alexandrina Najmowicz accepts her election as a member of the honourary council from new secretary general Natacha Kazatchkine
At the meeting, the network also voted to create a new Honorary Council, made up of individuals no longer formally within the ECF network, but whose expertise and history within ECF still proves invaluable. ECF founder and former president Jean-Marc Roirant was elected as president of the council, while Alexandrina Najmowicz, Frank Heuberger, and Ewa Kulik-Bielińska were elected as members.
Finally, elections took place for a third of the seats on the steering committee and for the board of directors. The membership of the steering committee remained unchanged, while Asociacion Cultural Baizara and Fédération française des maisons de l’Europe joined as members of the board of directors. Congratulations to all the new members, the new advisory council, and the new members of the board of directors!
