Ligue de l’enseignement: Welcoming a Group of Norwegian Teachers and Pedagogical Exchanges Around French as a Foreign Language (FLE)

24 April 2026 | Members' Corner

On 18 and 19 March 2026, around ten Norwegian teachers working with adult migrants or adults with no formal education were welcomed in Paris. This mobility was organized with the Erasmus+ accreditation, coordinated by the Europe and International department of the confederal centre of La Ligue de l’enseignement. It included visits to La Ligue de l’enseignement de Paris and Centres Paris Anim’, as well as observation sessions and exchanges focusing on pedagogical practices in French as a Foreign Language (FLE).

This mobility pursued several complementary objectives:

  • Observing FLE teaching practices with migrants or unschooled adults;
  • Encouraging exchanges between teachers from both countries;
  • Enriching teaching methods through the sharing of experiences.

During these two days, the teachers were divided into two small groups to facilitate classroom observation. Several workshops were offered, including “Les Missives” project, FLE courses for migrants and unschooled adults, as well as the show “Hercules and the Missives”. Following each observation, a time for discussions was organized between French and Norwegian teachers to discuss teaching methods, tools and challenges encountered in the classroom.

This mobility was led by the Europe and International department of the confederal centre, which regularly supports federations and affiliated organizations in their European projects. Through this program, the department contributes to strengthening European cooperation and enhancing the skills of network stakeholders by promoting mobility and the sharing of professional practices.
