The Lithuanian National Coalition of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Nordic Council of Ministers, is launching a project to enhance NGO involvement in crisis management systems. With growing expectations for NGOs to actively respond to various crises — pandemics, natural disasters, social issues, and more — additional preparation and Nordic expertise are essential at both national and local levels.
Key Activities in the Project:
- Two international Civil Resistance Forums at the Lithuanian Parliament this November and the next spring.
- Study visits to Finland and Sweden.
- Introductory training for NGOs and local administrations, followed by tabletop exercises in six cities.
- Tabletop exercises at the national level for Coalition members, focusing on responses to hybrid crisis scenarios in Lithuania.
This initiative will equip NGOs and local governments to better cooperate and respond to crises that may arise in the future.
