Orban’s attack on civil society won’t go unanswered. After months of hard work, we are proud to announce a historic victory: the Hungarian government will face a united front consisting of 15 countries, the European Parliament, and the European Commission, in the largest legal battle for civic freedoms in the history of the EU. This historic response is the result of relentless civil society advocacy.
What’s next? The case now moves to the next stage at the Court of Justice of the European Union. Participating governments will present their arguments, and more states can still join the oral hearings. RECLAIM will continue its work to ensure that this case is not just won but that it shapes the future of civic freedoms across Europe.
