The ECF held its General Assembly on 24 June, with more than 40 member organisations present online. This was also an opportunity to approve the membership of 5 new organisations from 5 different countries. The Wheel (Ireland), LIBERA onlus (Italy), RECLAIM Europe, Ministarstvo Prostora (Serbia) and ALFA Centar Niksic (Montenegro) are now part of ECF network, which covers 29 countries.
The Wheel, the largest platform representing notably charitable organisations in Ireland, joined the ECF after already taking part in several joint activities. This was also the case for LIBERA (Italy) and RECLAIM Europe (Belgium), with whom the ECF cooperated though the Civic Space Watch. Finally, Ministarstvo Prostora (Serbia) and ALFA Centar Niksic (Montenegro) symbolise the more intensive work done on the Western Balkans by ECF in recent years.
All new members expressed their satisfaction to bring a European dimension into their daily activities and share knowledge with colleagues in a transnational network.
The European Civic Forum warmly welcomes them and hopes to build successful cooperation, to enhance the enabling environment for CSOs across Europe.
