Ökotárs – Hungarian Environmental Partnership Foundation and its partners have published a new call for applications for civil society organisations committed to democracy, human rights and the rule of law!

The aim of the programme is to create cohesive and active civil society communities, whose members work together to form new partnerships, develop as organisations, expand their methodological knowledge, while also implementing concrete campaigns. The call for proposals is open to projects that will help ensure that everyone in Hungary can enjoy their rights, participate in shaping their own lives and have a say in our common affairs, regardless of where they come from, how they think or what their circumstances are. In partnership, in development, in action!

In the first call, national CSOs can choose between two types of applications. ’In Partnership – national and regional applications’, target larger, national CSOs working in partnership with smaller, rural organisations and citizens’ initiatives. The maximum grant available in this category is EUR 60 000.

The ‘In Development – Institution Building and Project Proposals‘ are mainly open to small and medium-sized CSOs outside Budapest that are already carrying out or planning to start activities related to the values set out in the programme. The maximum grant available in this category is EUR 20 000.

The opportunities are part of the national component of the European Union’s new programme for direct support to civil society organisations in the Member States (Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values – CERV). The grants for Hungary will be channelled to Hungarian civil society through Ökotárs Foundation, Autonomia Foundation, Carpathian Foundation-Hungary. Grantees will also receive organisational development support provided by the Hungarian Association for Community Development.

The organisations launching the national applications will ensure that EU funding for Hungary under the programme reaches the people who want to take action.
