After almost eight years of commitment to bring institutional recognition for European civil society in EU policy-making, the ECF Co-president, Jean-Marc Roirant, ended his leadership mandate as Chair of Civil Society Europe (CSE) during its General Assembly on 21 June 2023.
Jean-Marc leaves a wonderful legacy, his vast knowledge, experience and expertise concerning civil society and civil dialogue in Europe will be missed in the daily work of CSE, but he will continue his contribution as special advisor for an upcoming initiative on the history of civil society organisations in Europe and for the development of a label for EU CSOs to engage in civil dialogue, as we move into this next important phase for CSE.
ECF Secretary General Alexandrina Najmowicz has been elected as member of the new CSE Board, alongside Gabriella Civico, CEV-Centre for European Volunteering (President), Judit Lantai, JEF Europe (Vice-President), Patrizia Heidegger, The Green 10/European Environmental Bureau (Vice-President), Giuseppina Tucci (She/Her), Lifelong Learning Platform – European Civil Society for Education (Treasurer), Nicholas Aiossa, Transparency International EU, Martina Corti, SOLIDAR & SOLIDAR Foundation, Piotr Sadowski (he/him), Volonteurope, and Laura de Bonfils, Social Platform.
